Alaska 2016 | Day 25 | Meyers Chuck to Wrangell

"This was my favorite day so far!" one of the participants explained during dinner. Sunny (hot, even) weather, beautiful mountain scenery, calm water, and a pleasant town and good meal out at the end of the day.

The day started with Cassy delivering still-warm cinnamon rolls to the boats at Meyers Chuck. Delicious.

Heading north from Ketchikan, Alaska just gets better and better. The mountains get taller and more snow capped, the wildlife typically becomes more abundant, the people fewer, the towns smaller and less impacted by cruise ship traffic (until Juneau).

From Meyers Chuck, we headed up Ernest Sound, then Zimovia Strait. The current was against us all day, perhaps the result of Stikine River outflow, but it didn't matter. We just had more time to admire the scenery.

We had an excellent dinner at the Stikine Inn. The weather was plenty warm for comfortable outdoor dining. We must have enjoyed ourselves, since we stayed until sunset!
